Professional Life?
I am a qualified physiotherapist with extensive experience in both public and private healthcare, complemented by a long-standing involvement in commercial agriculture. Over the course of my career, I have served in various clinical capacities, including contributions to high-profile sporting events such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2011 AFCON. Beyond healthcare, I manage diversified farming enterprises covering sugarcane, livestock, poultry and horticulture. I also serve in leadership roles within several agricultural cooperatives and industry bodies, where I contribute to governance, strategic development and the advancement of emerging farmers.
Acceptance of the Responsibility of Being a SITFE Trustee?
I accepted the responsibility of serving as a SITFE Trustee because I strongly believe in the transformative role of education in creating sustainable and inclusive opportunities for young people. SITFE has a distinguished history of empowering learners from rural and disadvantaged communities, particularly within sugar-producing regions. My commitment to community upliftment, combined with my background in both healthcare and agriculture, motivates me to contribute positively to the Trust’s mission and to support initiatives that open meaningful pathways for the next generation.
Objectives During My Tenure?
During my tenure, I aim to strengthen the strategic impact of SITFE by ensuring that its programmes remain relevant, accessible and aligned to industry needs. My focus is on enhancing governance, supporting effective resource allocation, and promoting initiatives that develop skilled professionals who can contribute to the long-term sustainability of the sugar industry. I also hope to advance collaboration with educational and training institutions, ensuring that beneficiaries receive the holistic support needed to excel academically and professionally.
