Do More Foundation

Since 2017, SITFE has been in partnership with the RCL Foods Early Childhood Development (ECD) Mpumalanga: Nkomazi “Leave no Young Child Behind” Initiative. In the 1st 5-year phase of the partnership (2017-2020) the programme supported 27 ECD’s Centres with Capacity Building of Practitioners though an Introductory One Year Course on Early Childhood Development completed by Practitioners of the 27 ECD Centres. Each centre received a comprehensive resource kit twice for two years. And became members of the Toy Library and benefited by exchange of toys. All the centres participated in an Enrichment Programme and few received infrastructural improvements. The 2nd phase of the current partnership is focusing on 10 ECD centres with infrastructure upgrades and NQF Level 4 Training for 12 practitioners for an 18-month duration as well as Skills training for 30 practitioners – duration of 12 months.

10 ECD centres have been enriched with infrastructure upgrades in the form of 5250lt JoJo tanks that have been donated. Funding has been used towards installation of the tanks at the 10 centres. This allows for access to drinkable water that the children can use while at school. Wooden Toys were also distributed to 35 ECD Centres
